Universal 3D Printing Software

Software pioneer CoreTechnologie is unveiling a new version of its 4D_Additive software at 3D printing trade show Formnext 2023. The universal 3D printing tool for additive manufacturing has new functions and system optimisations as well as new direct connections to 3D printers based on standard formats.

The German-French software manufacturer CoreTechnologie (CT) will present the new version 1.5 of the innovative printing software 4D_Additive at the Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt from 7 to 10 November 2023. Optimised functions and new direct interfaces make the tool a universal 3D printing software for every 3D printer.

Optimised functions for automated processes

At the fair, CT will present a new product based on the nesting functions of 4D_Additive, which allows the integration of the fully automated nesting functions in MES systems in batch mode by means of a web service. With the system's own script language, the automated nesting processes are individually adapted to customer requirements.

With the further developed 3D nesting module, large packing densities are generated and optimum heat distribution without heat pockets is achieved. In addition, the definition of the maximum packing density is possible.

Complex objects at the touch of a button

At the push of a button, the revised Lattice functions directly generate complex lightweight parts or individualised utility objects such as running shoes from CAD models. All that is required is to select the desired surface areas of the CAD model and define the edge thickness, desired structure and cell size. The software thus allows the creation of complex models with just a few clicks. A total of 22 different lattice structures are available.

Surface design made easy

With the texture functions for the creation of surface designs as well as the connection to the Adobe Substance Community Assets, thousands of textures for the design of 3D printed components are available for download free of charge.

New Build Manager

The enhanced slicing module of the new 4D_Additive software version 1.5 features a build manager for SLS and SLM printers, as well as specific image generation methods for inkjet printers. Thus, for SLS and SLM machines, the laser paths and the laser parameters are freely defined and stored in the new material database. The slices for inkjet printers are defined by hollowing out the geometry with any wall thickness with different densities for the edge and fill areas. The slices are output as vector graphics or as bitmap with full HD resolution. Specific support structures for metal printing and DLP as well as SLA printing processes are further highlights of the new 4D_Additive version.
