Takeover of Bosch

Aequita SE & Co. KGaA plans to take over the Brake Components product area of the Bosch Vehicle Motion division. Buderus Guss GmbH with the Breidenbach and Ludwigshütte locations and Robert Bosch Lollar Guss GmbH in Lollar are to be transferred to the new owner together with around 900 employees.

The corresponding contracts were signed on February 2, 2024. Completion is subject to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities. The globally active industrial group Aequita, Munich, plans to consolidate its foundry business in Breidenbach by the end of 2026 and invest in energy-efficient and low-emission systems there. As a competence and production center, Lollar will focus on the surface coating of brake discs - a technology that reduces brake abrasion and thus contributes to compliance with future emission standards.

Brake disc production has hardly any synergies with existing business areas within the Bosch Group, and competition is characterized by medium-sized companies. Against this backdrop, Bosch had already announced in 2021 that it was looking for a new owner for the product division who could better exploit the potential of the business through its positioning and orientation. The workforce and employee representatives have been regularly informed about the sales process in recent years.
