CREMER ERZKONTOR takes over HAG

CREMER ERZKONTOR continues its verticalisation course. As of September 2023, the northern German raw materials company is taking over Handels- und Aufbereitungsgesellschaft für Mineralien mbH, Hamm (HAG), a specialist in the processing of chrome ore sand for the steel and foundry industries. CREMER ERZKONTOR is thus increasing its processing capacities by 120,000 tonnes per year.

"The development from a pure raw materials trader to a manager of the entire raw materials supply for our customers is our strategic goal," says Nils Fleig, Managing Director CREMER ERZKONTOR. "With the acquisition of HAG, we now offer our customers the processing of chrome ore sand, an important raw material in the refractory and foundry industries. Together with our other two German grinding plants in Hamm and Wesel, we are increasing our European refractory mineral processing capacities to 300,000 tonnes per year. This makes us one of the largest processing companies in Europe today."

Handels- und Aufbereitungsgesellschaft für Mineralien mbH, Hamm was founded in 2012 as an independent company out of the Hamm mineral grinding plant. The company specialises in the drying, dedusting, cooling, screening, storage and packaging of chrome ore sand for the steel and foundry industries. HAG has a total operating area of 30,000 m², of which 20,000 m² is used for the storage of raw material and 4,000 m² is covered storage area for packaged goods (big bags, paper sacks). The processing company has a processing capacity of up to 120,000 tonnes per year.

"CREMER ERZKONTOR is a very good choice as the buyer of our family business," says Stefan Frevel, former managing director and main shareholder of HAG. "We have been working together in partnership for years and I am convinced that HAG is an optimal fit for the strategic further development of CREMER ERZKONTOR."
